Christmas is here!  All around the world people are celebrating the birth of Jesus and Mavuno is no exception.

Last weekend we had a chance to celebrate at our all staff Christmas party.  It was a wonderful day filled with fun.

There was food, gifts for the kids, a white elephant gift exchange for the adults, singing, ice cream, and a game of ultimate Frisbee.

The kids were all excited to receive their gifts and enjoyed watching the adults steal each other’s gifts in the white elephant exchange!

There were many smiles and much laughter throughout the day.

It was a great time of fellowship as together we celebrated the birth of our Savior.

Sh'tungulus

As of December 1st 2012, Daudi and Getruda Sh’tungulu have become the second on-campus family here at Mavuno.

The Sh’tungulus moved to Mavuno the beginning of September to start their probation period before becoming official on-campus parents and receiving children.  They have three children of their own, Sh’tungulu, Mariamu, and Abeli.

They are all excited to be a part of Mavuno and have jumped in whole-heartedly.

Join us in thanking God for this wonderful family, who are willing to serve here.  Please pray for them as they began to receive children.

End of the School Year

In Tanzania the school year ends around the beginning of December and begins again in January.  Two of the kids here on campus attend a private school in town.  The rest attend our early learning center here on campus.

The school year has just ended and we had an end of the year party for our early learning center.

This included a little school work, lots of games, soda, a movie, and a lot of fun!  It was so fun to see the excitement and joy displayed on the kid’s faces all throughout the day.

They are already excited and ready for school to start again!
