Moving Day!

If you had been here on the afternoon of March 20th you may have seen about five kids together ferrying one basket of books from the Sh’tungulu’s home to the new little red building overlooking the soccer field.  The building is known as the guest house or to those of us from Kenya, the butchery due to its color.  What was going on?

Helping out!

In December a team from the States came out to help build a guest house here at Mavuno.  It is made up of two separate rooms both with a bathroom.  Since September when the Sh’tungulu family joined Mavuno the Early Learning Center has been located in part of their home.  Now with the new guest house available the Center has been able to move into one of the rooms.  So on March 20th adults and kids alike took on the job of moving books, shelves, posters, and much more to the new school building.

The next morning with much excitement the children gathered for their first day in the new school.  Some of the excitement died when the door would not unlock.  To make matters worse the key then got stuck in the lock…  The fourth person to try finally managed to get the door unlocked and school began.  We are all so thankful for this new building to use for the school!
